About Me

Aigner Fells

I am a Resident in Counseling working in private practice in Northern Virginia. Through individual, couples, groups and family therapy; I aspire to a strengths based, holistic approach, integrating theories of therapy that address the body, mind and soul. I encourage the client (s) to reflect on past experiences, identify current challenges and gain awareness of cognitive, behavioral - relational patterns and psychosomatic reactions. Through this awareness and an effective therapeutic partnership, we will work together to develop desired goals and various treatment strategies. While I tailor my techniques to fit the need of each individual client, one thing that remains constant is my desire to normalize the art of therapy. I spend my sessions not only providing therapeutic treatment, but also creating a safe space. It is not until we feel safe enough to let our guards down, can we truly make progress.

I have over 13 years of experience working in the fields of mental health, case management and human services combined. I am experienced in working with all age groups ranging from childhood to geriatrics. Throughout my career, I've worked in various settings; including inpatient facilities, training centers, government agencies, in home counseling and outpatient therapy.

In addition to providing treatment for some of the most common mental health concerns, I, under the supervision of my clinical supervisor, have various specialty areas; including but not limited too; depression, anxiety, ADHD, bipolar, PTSD, identity exploration, life transitions, marriage, family, and stress management.  Through a commitment to make your treatment meaningful, valuable and helpful, I actively participate in specialized training to make ensure efficacy of treatment.
